Wait, what?
Can someone please explain to me how we went from Valentine’s Day to Christmas time already? No, but really, wow! Time sure flew this year. And all we have to do is look out on the roads, in the stores, on the freeways, and at our bank accounts to confirm that its about to go down with all of the holiday programs and parties and secret santas and family get-togethers and food, oh you cannot forget the food. Isn’t that what we all really look forward to? The goodies! I mean, yeah, there’s the whole ‘wonder on the faces of the innocent children as all the magic that the holidays bring happens around them’ but at some point it’s really about that homemade fudge or those frosted sugar cookies. Not that I need help proving that my body is a wonderland but cookies definitely help.

Corbin and Braxton have their Christmas program tomorrow night and they are dressing in the best cheery garb we could find topped with their Christmas light necklaces to sing their butts off to all of their Christmas songs with the rest of the elementary. Also, all of the goodies the boys signed us up to bring to their class parties will be packed in backpacks to go to school. Oh, the joys, eh? We really enjoy it because they do. Soon enough, the week will end and Christmas vacation will be upon us and this is really where I become giddy like a little kid.

Most families that celebrate the holidays have family traditions. I guess in a way so do we, as in, we do the same thing every year. And we LOVE it. This year, just like last year, the festivities are at our house on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is with my mom’s side of our family. We will all pile into my house late afternoon in our onsies. We will make our Christmas dinner that we do every year. And this year, my c0usin and I have come up with the idea of making everyone go caroling with us after we eat. That’s SO FUN!!! Then we buckle down for some hilarious game playing; Pictionary is back on the list this year and that’s always a fan favorite. We used to throw our pallets down and snuggle up for a Christmas movie but since everyone is grown and we have kids of our own, we have cut that from the plans and started opening gifts instead so that we all could head to our own homes after the night ends.
Christmas Day at our house is a first this year and is including my dad’s side of the family and my husbands family. We are getting together to hang out and eat a huge lunch. The kids will open their gifts and I’m sure we will all talk about everything we can think of while taking a million pictures. I am super excited about it.

New Years will be the week later and I don’t have a clue what we have planned, if anything. But right before the boys go back to school from their break we are taking another trip to the Disneyland Resort and that will be an ending of epic proportions!
Now this mom needs a nap like a mother.
