Puerto Rico: Guide to Fun for the whole family

Puerto Rico is an island paradise that offers endless opportunities for fun and relaxation. From its stunning beaches to its vibrant culture, this Caribbean gem has something to offer for everyone. Whether you’re looking for adventure or just want to unwind, there’s no shortage of things to do in Puerto Rico. And the best part, no passport needed from the states! In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the top activities to enjoy while vacationing on this beautiful island.

Mini Motor Boat Tours

One of the most popular activities for visitors to Puerto Rico is taking a mini motor boat tour. These tours offer a unique way to explore the island’s beautiful coastline, with opportunities to swim, snorkel, and even spot some of the local marine life. Some tours take you to secluded coves and beaches that are only accessible by boat, allowing you to escape the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet in a beautiful natural setting. This tour was hands down the most fun we have ever had on an excursion!

Dancing in La Placita, Santurce

If you’re looking for a taste of Puerto Rico’s vibrant nightlife, be sure to visit La Placita in the Santurce neighborhood of San Juan. This lively area is known for its open-air bars, live music, and dancing. On weekends, the streets come alive with locals and visitors alike, all enjoying the festive atmosphere and lively music. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or just want to watch the action, La Placita is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the vibrant culture of Puerto Rico. Don’t be afraid to explore the local culture.

Explore Old San Juan

No visit to Puerto Rico would be complete without a trip to Old San Juan. This historic neighborhood is home to some of the island’s most iconic landmarks, including the Castillo San Felipe del Morro and the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista. Stroll through the colorful streets and take in the colonial architecture, then stop for a coffee or a meal at one of the many charming cafes and restaurants in the area.

Relax on the Beach

Of course, no visit to Puerto Rico would be complete without spending some time on the beach. With miles of beautiful coastline, there’s no shortage of places to soak up the sun and enjoy the warm waters of the Caribbean. Some of the most popular beaches include Isla Verde, Condado, and Luquillo, each offering its own unique blend of natural beauty and amenities. We also really enjoyed Seven Seas Beach for self-led snorkeling and kayak rental.

Sample Local Cuisine

Puerto Rico is known for its delicious cuisine, which blends Spanish, African, and indigenous influences. Be sure to sample some of the island’s signature dishes, such as mofongo (a mashed plantain dish), arroz con gandules (rice and pigeon peas), and lechon (roast pork). You can find these dishes and many more at local restaurants and food stalls throughout the island.

After all, Puerto Rico is a wonderful vacation destination that offers something for everyone. From mini motor boat tours to dancing in La Placita, there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy while visiting this beautiful island. So whether you’re looking for adventure or just want to relax and unwind, be sure to put Puerto Rico on your list of must-visit destinations.

See ya soon, Mi hermosa isla
