For the past couple of weekends all of my great plans to get out of town and go to the beach or the mountains have been crapped on by the millions of other things that absolutely HAD to be done so on a whim yesterday Corbin, Braxton, Kannyn and I decided to take off to Monterey and what a great idea that was! First of all, if you’ve never been to Monterey, you must go! It’s such a beautiful place and so many neat things to explore.
We got there mid-afternoon so we went and strolled the Old Fisherman’s Wharf. Went in and out of the shops, smelled all of the seafood restaurants, grabbed all of the whale watching brochures and snapped few photos on the docks.
The boys also scurried and shimmied their way down some rocks to see if they could catch a glimpse of some crabs or other cool things. To our surprise, JELLYFISH! It was by far one of the coolest things we have ever seen in person. They were everywhere! We were jumping up and down and shouting how cool it was to see them while the town people thought we were nuts. We also saw a handful of HUUUUUGE starfish attached to the dock and pier. Another out-of-this-world find.
We could have sat and watched them all for hours! We bedded down at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay Seaside which was a perfect fit for us. Large 2 room suite with buffet breakfast included in the morning is what we like! Our suite also had a balcony that faced the ocean which was a short walk away. That was just what the doctor ordered.
We opted to pass on ordering room service and instead got some noodles from the store in the lobby and Gatorade. What can I say, we’re easy! This morning we enjoyed that buffet breakfast then headed out to explore the coastal comings. We cruised up HWY 1 and gawked at the endless ocean and the many whale spouts we saw in the distance and ended up passing Big Sur to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. We have always wanted to take that little hike and view McWay Falls in all of its glory and my is it gorgeous!
Those boys aren’t half bad either, if I do say so myself. All in all we had a great mini trip and we were equally excited about all that we discovered. Can’t wait to go back again!
Better to see something once, than to hear about it a thousand times.
Happy momma.
Awesome sauce beautiful pics ❤❤
It was so cool. That waterfall is gorgeous. It’s like something out of paradise. Crystal blue water. 😧
Loved your recap! I’ve never been but I’ve always wanted to go! I felt like I was there with you guys lol. I too would have jumped with excitement at the sight of jellyfish and starfish.
