That’s right! Summer is coming! Actually, here in California it pretty much feels like its hit us already, and I LOVE it. I love the sun, the smell of tanning oil, all the time spent outside and in the water. It’s what I live for.

As we gear up for the school year to come to an end and summer upon us this break will be a bit different as all three of the older boys will be doing online summer school. I am pretty stoked about this because as they will continue to learn and grow their minds for the upcoming year it means they will also have something to keep them a bit more busy which is music to my heart as a parent during summer break.

We will still have our fair share of beach trips, Disneyland jaunts, and last minute crazy trips to who knows where else, for sure! We live for summertime adventures.

This summer is also our second summer hosting a baseball player in our home from our local PECOS league team the Bakersfield Train Robbers. We had an excellent experience last summer and have volunteered again. What’s even more fun is that we go to every game we can and the boys enjoy it so much. They get to catch fly balls, go out on the field for between inning dances and shenanigans and feel important because they know a player.

Tim and I enjoy hosting because we love to see young men after college pursuing their dream of professional sports. And seeing how only a few on the team are actually from this town, everyone else needs a host family and home. Can’t resist a good ball game nacho and a few home runs to make the summer nights complete!

All in all, after summer vacation is over all of the Johnson’s will be tan, smart(er), zen’d out, and ready to take on what August and the new school year has to offer with hopefully a handful of amazing experiences to share with you!
