Feel the Love, Lovers!

February happens to hold one of the most romantic days of the year, Valentine’s Day. Suddenly the stores are blanketed in red, pink, and white. Stuffed animals and hearts with boxes of candy and sweet gifts. People selling flowers and beautiful assortments on the street corners.

February also happens to be our wedding anniversary. Married on the 18th 13 years ago and we also had our ten year vow renewal on the 21st, so we LOVE this month. As well as all of the great memories it will forever hold, of course everyone seems a little more in love, too.

That being said I have to add that even though throughout the years I have talked about the longing for the one romantic gesture that would melt my heart, we aren’t super romantic people. And I’m fine with that. Feed me! Chocolate covered strawberries are delicious and that’s perfect. Maybe a dinner? I don’t care if you cook one, order pizza, or take me out. It all works for me!

My husbands job keeps him out of town, state, country even, quite a bit so we’ve grown accustomed to not being together for our anniversary. This year will be no different, although the boys and I might steal away for a few days to meet him where ever he is, so I’m sure that’ll be a fun little adventure.

I always enjoy putting together little gifts for my boys for Valentine’s Day, of course nothing too girly, but they love getting a stuffed animal. They quite adore being loved on and even if they didn’t that wouldn’t stop me because as my oldest reminded me yesterday, “Oh my god, you’re so embarrassing!”.

Valentine’s Day obviously happens every year so its crucial to come up with new and not over-done ideas if you’re looking to gift something to another or do something special. And whatever that may be, I hope your day of love is filled with smiles, smoochies, and your idea of perfect.

I love my eyes when you look into them. I love my name when you say. I love my heart when you touch it. I love my life when you are in it.
